APRIL 21 & 28, 2014

9:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.

It’s time to think spring!  Come make a light weight jacket in just two days!  This jacket is perfect for cool spring evenings or an evening at the beach.

Supply List:  Jacket body  s-m = 12 fat quarters  l-xl 14 fat quarters,  if you need this pattern enlarged to a 2x or 3x I need to know at least a week in advance.  For these sizes you will need about 20 fat quarters.    Collar and sleeves:  for sizes s-l fabric must be 42 in. wide, for xl – 2 or 3 x, fabric must be at least 45 in. wide,  for the collar and sleeves you will need at least 2 yards.  Binding fabric: ½ yard.  Fabric should be 100% cotton or flannel for a heavier jacket.

You will need to bring your sewing machine, thread, scissors, and seam ripper.  If you have a cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler, you should bring it.

Come spend a day making a quilted clock to match your décor.   It’s fun and easy!  I made my clock totally out of scraps.  The only thing that needs to match is four of you clock pieces for the hours of 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock.

1/8 yard of heat and bond (available at Thomas Sewing Center)

1 fat quarter for matching hour pieces

2 fat quarters for background squares

 Coordinating scrap prints

18 inch square of backing

18 inch square of batting

1 quartz clock movement kit that runs on AA battery (Hobby Lobby)

Sewing machine

I used cardboard to back the clock, you will want to wait until your clock is finished to cut your cardboard to the exact size.

I had a man custom make my frame, I have his name and phone number if you want to order one.  They are $25.00

Embroidery Club!!

Exciting news!!!!  Be sure to sign up for our  Embroidery Club!  We are offering an Embroidery Education Club!  This club will meet once a month  at 10:00 a.m. Due to the varying technology of the machines, there is a class the third Thursday or the fourth Thursday. The model of your machine will determine which class you will be in.  The length of class will vary due to the complexity of the project. Our goal is to create a fun and easy environment to learn new techniques and receive proper education on hooping and stabilization. Each month you will learn a new technique such as Machine Embroidery Appliqué, Cutwork, 3D Embroidery, Bobbin Work, the use of Texture Magic, etc. The best thing about the club is that you will not only learn how to do these techniques but each month, during class, you will make and complete a project!  The cost of embroidery club will be $20.00 per month. This will cover the cost of supplies and instruction for each completed project.

Please call to register (606-473-3540) as soon as possible as the classroom will only accommodate 8 to 10 people!

Email Barbara to sign up, and to get more details.
